Beattie Passive and Encraft are pleased to be working together on the Coventry ECO House project. These homes will be certified to the Passivhaus energy performance standard and also through the Code for Sustainable Homes at Levels 4 & 6. The homes will be available for social rent and operated by Orbit Heart of England Housing Association.
The project is a collaborative, learning legacy project that aims to develop and demonstrate the local capability for the design, build and operation of sustainable homes. Scheduled to last 26 weeks, the project is perceived by Orbit Homes as a forerunner for their new build standard. Concerned to use future-proofed construction methodologies which incorporate eco-friendly technologies, the company invests its surpluses in providing affordable homes and prides itself on a “commercial approach with a social purpose”.
SMEs in the West Midlands are invited to visit the project and learn first-hand from the experiences of the design and build teams as work progresses onsite in Canley, Coventry. Two half day workshops (including site visits) have been scheduled at critical stages in the build programme to allow visitors on site to witness first-hand this demonstration of an innovative build system.
To book a place please visit: http://www.coventry.ac.uk/business/supporting-your-business/sustainable-building-futures/. Non-SMEs will be able to book via the Encraft Eventbrite website http://cveco.eventbrite.co.uk.
